How to add an admin to your Squarespace website
Here's how to quickly add an admin to your Squarespace website. We can manage what permissions they have, remove them, and send them a link to give them instant access.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add an admin to your Squarespace store:
Step 1: Log in to Your Squarespace Account
First, log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the "Settings" section.
Step 2: Click "Permissions"
In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you see the "Permissions" option. Click on it to open the "Permissions" panel.
Step 3: Click "Invite Contributor"
In the "Permissions" panel, you'll see a button that says "Invite Contributor." Click on this button to add a new contributor to your site.
Step 4: Enter Contributor's Email Address
Next, you'll need to enter the email address of the person you want to add as an admin. Squarespace will send an email invitation to this address with instructions on how to set up their account.
Step 5: Choose Contributor Role
Once you've entered the contributor's email address, you'll need to choose their role. There are two types of roles you can assign: Admin and Billing.
Admin: An admin has access to all of the features on your site, including editing content, adding products, and managing orders.
Billing: A billing contributor can only access the billing and commerce-related features on your site, such as updating payment information and viewing order history.
Step 6: Click "Send Invite"
After you've selected the contributor's role, click "Send Invite" to send the invitation to your contributor. They'll receive an email with instructions on how to set up their account and log in to your Squarespace site.
Step 7: Contributor Accepts Invitation
Once the contributor receives the email invitation, they'll need to click on the link in the email to accept the invitation and set up their account. They'll be prompted to create a password and log in to your Squarespace site.
Step 8: Contributor Accesses Your Squarespace Site
After the contributor has set up their account, they can log in to your Squarespace site and start making changes. You can always revoke their access by going back to the "Permissions" panel and clicking the "X" next to their name.
