How to add video, set it to autoplay & loop in Squarespace

Here's how to upload videos in a section on Squarespace and set the video to auto-play, mute & loop. This means when a person scrolls your website, the video will automatically start playing and keep repeating.

Find videos at https://www.pexels.com/

Step 1: Log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the page where you want to add the video.

Step 2: Click the "+" button to add a new block to your page.

Step 3: Select the "Video" block from the block menu.

Step 4: Upload your video file by clicking the "Upload" button, or choose an existing video from the media library.

Step 5: Once the video has been uploaded, click on the "Design" tab in the block editor.

Step 6: Toggle on the "Autoplay" and "Loop" options to enable them. I like to also turn off the all player controls.

Step 7: Preview the video block to make sure it's working as intended.

Step 9: Click "Save" to publish the page with the video block.

That's it! You've successfully added a video block to your Squarespace website and set it to autoplay and loop.

Pro tip: Make sure your video file is optimized for web viewing, so it doesn't slow down your website's load time. Squarespace recommends using H.264 encoded MP4 files with a maximum resolution of 1080p.
